Statement on the Situation in Egypt

The Government of Sri Lanka welcomes the smooth and peaceful transition of power in Egypt.  Sri Lanka and Egypt enjoy warm and close ties. It is in this context that Sri Lanka wishes for the people of Egypt, progress and stability within a democratic framework of governance.
